get the optimum number of demonstrators out (and it was a

Not sure what you mean here Sue. Are you agreeing with me that we
a single person to take on the role of 'pack leader' at each demo.
If so, that is exactly the point I was making.
What I'm really saying is that 7 of us got the campaign of the
ground but to take the campaign further we will need help in
all sorts of areas, particularly local activists that will take
the lead in their locality. The 7 are just catalysts; the real
campaign will be carried by people who care about keeping the
waterways alive in their communities.
