The only reason we could have done what we did in the last 6 years has been
because we had an expanding and intact British Waterways system (NONE of our
plans we were ever held up by a long term stoppage and the few emergency
stoppages we encountered were fixed within hours) This enabled us to
"attack" the lesser used EA navigations at a time that suited them, as well
as positioning ourselves for critical tidal passages.
This already would be impossible to achieve and if the DEFRA cuts bite then
things WILL get much worse..........so TNC urges everyone to support the
"Save Our Waterways" campaign.
On of the main points of our travels was to inspire others to follow.
We are only average boaters in a pretty average boat, it is a shame to think
that already many things that we did are now impossible.
