Both Labour and Conservative parties have offices at Westminster that
provide "model answers" to their MPs for letters on campaign and
lobbying issues.
Given the vast range of issues covered in letters to MPs, they cannot
be experts in all of them. So there is nothing particularly sinister
in this given that we have a party system of government. OTOH good MPs
reserve the right of not always agreeing with the party line.
We should take the fact that there is a model as a sign of success.
