The other day Sue posted about the Chinese built narrowboats on
brokerage at Braunston. Saw them from the outside (in the dark) last
night. How bizarre! They certainly have an unusual styling with a
slightly curved cruiser deck with no inset for steps and loads of
chrome. There are sliding hatches front and rear for access into the
cabin and totally oversized slatted air vents front and rear to more
than doubly meet the BSS advised requirements. A peek (by torchlight)
through the windows reveals a very nice wood floor but an acute shortage
of storage from what I could see. The bit that intrigues me most is the
chrome rubbing strip - how is it attached to the shell and will it
survive normal lock abuse? Our man on the spot (Ken K) will hopefully
obtain some photos today.
