Hi Mr Mayor and other ditch crawlers. Your time has now apparently run it's course. I am reminded that, a year or two ago Beeky himself forced me to face up to the negative aspects of a life spent summer and winter alike in a sardine tin. Had he not done this I too would be now joining your crusade against DEFRA's forces of darkness. But..... (Undeniably Nb abigbut) I saw the light. I decided to emigrate to Spain where, unfortunately, there are no canals. I now live in a large (250 sq m) country house in a village near Cáceres in Extremadura (SW Spain) where I enjoy an amazingly low cost lifestyle and fantastic climate. (Cue for castanets) What else can I say? You all have the chance of an interesting lifestyle on the UK canal network which T Blair can apparently change according at his whim - something which annoys me hugely. I sincerely hope that your views prevail. During my brief connection with the canal scene from 2000 to 2004 I met with nothing but friendliness and honesty from the boating fraternity and I wish you all well in your struggle with BW and your Government.
