Having once hired an electric boat, knowing how long it took to re-charge - 
I can guess how much power it used.  Too much to be replaced by even the 
latest solar panels - not to mention ....
1.  The cost of the panels themselves.
2.  The relatively short lifetime.
3.  The lack of boat area to place the panels - there's only really the 
roof, and ideally for max Wp one needs to tip the panel to face the sun
4.  The often lack of sun!

Also annoying is how the boat starts getting slower and slower during the 
last 13/rd of the power stored.
I'll stay with the diesel, thanks.
