Here's another couple of possible approaches.

1.  LB Faulkner was based, as you know, in Leightoin Buzzard.  I think their 
yard was what is now Wyvern Shipping.  James Griffin might therefore know 
something.

2.  Until a few years ago there was a little group of businesses on Leightin 
Buzard bridge (a grocery and a launderette) that carried the name Faulkner. 
I often wondered whether there was any family connection.  Local records of 
those might reveal something.
