The first pound below the top lock at Aston is often empty - so a leaking pound rather than vandals. A couple of years ago was taking a picture of the low pound to use in School - as part of trip preparation - this is a low pound and all that.... When this guy turned up in a motorcylce helmet and asked what I was doing taking pics of the canal!!!! (I was in my best suit at the time) turned out to be the peripetic lock keeper - we chatted and all was well. Meanwhile the pound remained empty. Ivan Cane
