Day 12 - Wednesday December 27th - Wrenbury to Middlewich
17 miles 4 furlongs, 12 locks, 6 hours 55 minutes
Weather - Fine initially, rain later

Failed to get our pints of Robinsons at the Dusty Miller last night as
it was shut. Ended up in the Cotton Arms instead for two OK pints of
Brakspears. Set off this morning at 7.30am, cleared the Baddiley three
by 8.35, Swanley two by 9.25 and arrived at the top of the Hurleston
four at 10.00am. Stopped for just over an hour to replenish the water
supplies and to empty the Thetford. Turned left at the bottom of the
flight at 11.40am and right at Barbridge Junction at 12.05pm. The slow
boat in front of us at both Cholmondeston and Minshull locks pulled over
when it started to rain. We ploughed on regardless arriving at the
visitor moorings above Wardle lock at 3.30pm. Wandered into Middlewich
to get some shopping in. Back to the boat to dry out and warm up.
