I doubt it's the same but here goes:
Needing to transfer my favourites from the laptop to the new PC I
dug into My Docs/Administrator/Favourites, copied the files
contained therein onto a memory stick and downloaded them into the
same place on the PC (I now understand that there might have been a
better way to do this by exporting/importing the favourites, but
that doesn't affect this query). I should explain that I keep my
favourites in main categories (parent) folders and sub categories
within those (child) files.
On checking the transferred favourites on the new PC I found that
most had been copied over but not all, some child files (addresses)
were missing. Went back o the laptop to try to find what had
happened only to discover that the folders/files contained in My
Docs/Admin/Favourites was exactly as I had copied.
My question/curiosity is this: As *all* the favourites are clearly
displayed in the favourites pane to the left of my IE page on the
laptop and *not all* of them appear to be stored in the Favourites
folder, where are they stored or, perhaps, how can they be displayed
when they are not apparently stored where they should be?
Not the end of the world if I can't find out but I am really curious
to know how this is happening, or more likely, what I've missed.
