Ok, I ordered the "First Mates guide", now own three "guides" including "Pearson's Canal Companion" & "The kennet and avon canal" by Niall Allsop.
I like the fact that the "First Mates guide" also has updates on the web. sounds nice. lets see how fast Royal Mail and the US postal service get it to me, I should not complain, other stuff has arrived in about a week. Knives and things: Any place that I have stayed, houseboats & self catering hotels, that supply a gally/kitchen I have been disappointed about two items, the lack of a sharp knife and the lack of a fry pan with any Teflon left on it.
