A curious fact about this short section is that it is indeed part of the Uttoxeter Canal rather than the Caldon. This puts it in the unique position of being excluded from the red diesel rule change as a close reading of the relevant documents shows that the Uttoxeter Canal is not among the waterways listed (unless there has been a change since I read it a few months ago.) Not that one would burn too much diesel of any colour doing this section... ;-) Steve Bream/CUCT etc
