The nicest trolley story I know happened in Vancouver (where there is a big trolley network). A driver was moved to a new route, which went down a main road quite near where he lived. Being on automatic pilot at the time, when he got to the intersection with his home street, he simply turned into it. Unfortunately, there were no trolley wires on that street, and the bus duly coasted to a halt.. Then all the passengers got out and pushed the bus back on to the main street, whereupon the driver (with red face) put the trolleys back on the wires and continued on his (proper) route. Couldn't happen with trams, of course. Although there are (or, at least, used to be) some tram routes in Toronto no longer regularly used but still usable, and it is/was possible to rent a tram (with driver) for a party and have it driven along them. Must shake up the locals. Adrian Adrian Stott 07956-299966
