Best fender dressed boat I saw was on the Leeds and Liverpool canal - Leeds
end. It had matching orange traffic cones for side fenders, a life ring plus
more cones for a rear fender, a large oil can filler spout for the chimney
cover and a it sported on the front deck a satellite dish made of metal welded
onto a dustbin lid. The (old fibre glass) boat was painted blue and red to
match the scheme and (having just found a photo) the wheel house had wing
mirrors, a row of front fog-spots along the top front of the wheelhouse and row
of orange (flashing) lights (ex some road excavation) along the back. This
photo I have here was due to go in a waterways mag. but change of editor (and
ideas) meant it was returned unpublished.
