A success.

Fewer (individually-licensed) boats than at Ware before Xmas (20 vs
30), but this time there were also a dozen canoes to make up
colourfully.  Also, the navigation is much narrower here, so it was
completely clogged with boating activity and interest.  

Good weather, too - sunny, not much wind.

Plenty of passers-by, as it was very close to the town centre.  Being
right outside the Barge pub didn't hurt, either.

The MP, mayor, and deputy mayor all turned up, spoke in support, and
then went ship-visiting.  And there was a fisherman in full regalia
from the local angling consortium, to show support.

Lets hope it has some effect.
