I was thinking that maybe while the Thames is in flood that they should raise
the Thames barrier allowing the flood waters to form a very large reservoir
stretching the odd 50 miles or so along the valley above the barrier. Once the
reservoir was full there need be no hosepipe bans in the south and think of the
massive leisure area the new Lake London would create.
