Is it my imagination or is Harecastle much higher in the middle than 
when I was a lad in the 70s? As I recall you used to had to steer 
looking down the side of the boat not over the top. Of course this was 
wise anyway as there were still a few bit of towpath waiting to catch 
the unwary.
