from the 'other' Blackheath:

A friend teaching in a poor area told me of a couple of little kids in her
infant class.

Penny: "And what do we do to prepare for Christmas?"
child: " We're fattening up some geese miss! We've got them in a cage in the
garden."
Penny: "Oh are you? Where did they come from?"
child: " We caught them from the canal miss."
Penny (suspicious): "What colour are they?"
child: "Brown and white miss."

A couple of days later child reported that they had got away.
Penny: "Well never mind, I don't think that they would have been very tasty."

Regards
Ann
