A couple of years ago, there was a sudden rash of unlicenced angling
on the lower Lee. Turned out to be recent and impecunious immigrants
(Albanian, I believe), who were taking the catch home for dinner. The
angling club was not amused, as it had stocked the length.

I understand they are very greasy (i.e. require an awful lot of
cooking to sweat it ouf of the flesh), tend to be tough i.e. require
...), and aren't that tasty. However, unless I've been the victim of
a mendacious maitre d', I've never eaten even part of one, so I can't
confirm this information from personal experience.
