Try Orion narrowboats based at Ashwood. They can do the job, but you'd have to
ask them for a quote. Mike and Wendy and Terry will testify to the quality of
their steelwork.

  Subject: [canals-list] Re-plating

Hi all - mostly just a lurker these days, but I am breaking silence to
ask if anyone could give me even the vaguest ballpark figure for re-
plating the bottom of a 40ft boat? Our Springer, built around
1969/1970, has started to develop leaks (recently had a huge adventure
running home from Marple to Calveley whilst trying to stop one of them,
but that's another story........) We have hard choices to make now - do
we use Thumper enough to warrant the cost of re-plating her bottom or
are our boating days over? I should appreciate any advice at all about
the likely cost and any recommendations of where to take her, bearing
in mind we are based on the Shroppie at Calveley, near Nantwich.
  Cheers
  Val
