Hi! Might be interesting for Graham, who introduced me to the Di Blasi folding mini-moped!
02:15 hours Tuesday morning. Just had my folding push bike stolen from the roof of Pengalanty, whilst being moored opposite Hightline Yahting, Grand Union, just before the Sough Arm Junction. I heard a scrape on the roof and investigated only to find my pushbike missing. I quickly unlocked the moped, (Covered with a thick blue waterproof bag,) opened it up and started the engine., I only had a siglet and trousers on and shoes and went as fast as I coule up the towpath towards the arm, hoping to see something. In the distance, I saw the red reflector of the pushbike glinting in my headlights and knew I was in the right direction. It was 3 youths about 15 or 16 years old. I firmly said, "Can I have my pushbike back you thieving yobos. They replied, "Ggo on, 'ave it then, so I just roughly took it from them without any scuffle. On relection afterwards, I considered myself to be luckly. I was no match for 3 seemingly fit youths. A positive outcome. At 02:30, I have the pushbike back on the roof AND IT IS LOCKED UP THIS TIME!. i THEN RANG THE Police to report the theft and told them I was on the canal. The asked me my POST CODE ! ! ! Any boaters coming this way, lock or glue everything you have to the boat. Regards, ~Allan~ nb.Pengalanty. PS: Thanks Graham for introducing me to the moped! It saved the day!
