I'm half way there.... I use OE6 But I avoided Sky like the plague.... 1. Because Sky use their own modified router (and I know people have had problems with them - and you can't change the logon to do the BT test!) 2. They wanted a 12 month contract - IMHO, any ISP who has that, has a cr*p service 3. They are right down at No. 22 in the list at http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings.php 4. My friend had one hell of a time with them, and managed to get out early as the service was cr*p from day 1 and he cancelled on day 8 (the last day Sky let you cancel). During the *many* phone calls he was told that .... (a) The service is very good once the exchange has been unbundled (his exchange - Lancaster is not) (b) BT alter some settings at the exchange to suit Sky routers, so changing back to another ISP takes time (it did!) (c) The special router blocks several ports, so certain programs that use the internet will NOT work (d) The number of connections is very limited (I know OE uses 2 - unlike some other e-mail programs) So I went with ADSL24 who... 1. Are No.1 or No.2 in the list (it has a light varation) 2. Only 1 month contract 3. No Fair Use Policy (that changes on a whim - like my last ISP [Pipex] did!) 4. A known (generous) allowance of bytes to be downloaded - all at virtually full speed.
