Just to let anyone who is planning to float through Newbury know, a largish tree has fallen across the river and blocked it completly. (monday eve)
A couple in a dutch style narrrow boat moored up and the lady said "that tree is going to fall down", "dont be daft, its been there years!" he replied 10 mins later he watched it fall straight towards them with the thinner branches laying across the roof of their boat. BW came out but as a overhead power cable was touching the tree the electric board had to come and clear that before BW could do anything. Not sure when it will be cleared. Nobody was hurt and there dosent seem to be any damage to the boat. All very lucky! cheers lee wells [EMAIL PROTECTED] Trust the boater but not his plank.
