Hi Barry,

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but I did not leave site until
Wednesday and this is the first time I can catch up with my emails.

Regarding Little Venice this year, Martin replied about the grass site,
which his reply was totally correct except missing a bit of detail. It was I
who said that I would not use that area. Whilst being the leader of the
Moose Camp (I took over the leadership to stop the festival being
cancelled). Mainly for the reasons Martin gave and for the previous years it
had always been mentioned it was an area where an accident waiting to
happen. I was not prepared to put anyone at risk and this included my
volunteers.

For those on the list who do not know the site or have never been to LV then
explaination. The grass site is about 100ft x 60ft (roughly), it has trees
that we are not allowed to trim etc roots are coming out off the ground and
because of the foliage the grass below is thin. So when it rains the place
is the best skid pain, I have ever seen. There are broken paving slabs that
hang over edges to trip you up. I could go on!

The last time LV used this grass site, Westminister Council tried to charge
the festival £500.00. even with the problems above!!

Regarding the number off boats in the pageant over hundred!! no I don't
think so maybe 30 plus, but as Steve Haywood said why do you not enter the
pageant or the boat handling etc.

One of your comments about a lot of people behind the seens made me laugh,
how many people do you think help at LV?? with setting up running the event
and then take down????

During this year I took over the role of Chairman for the LV Committee, and
still the Work camp (Moose Camp) leader/manager. I was on site from Tueday
the week leading up to the festival and left on Wednesday morning after.

If you had any questions etc why did you not come and see me, from this list
only one person come up to me and introduced himself, how many people from
this list was present? Yes I was busy, I started on site by 7:00hrs and
finished 01:00 during the festival, one morning started at 6:30hrs, but I
will always try to make time to chat to people, because in the long run that
can give me ideas about the future of the event.

I always will except constructive critism, but being negative helps no one.

SO HELP ME FOR NEXT YEAR

What was missing from the event? How can I or the committee change it? How
can we make more people to take part?

Moose
LV Festival Chairman and Work Camp Manager
