Hi - just in case anyone is wondering, the final chapter (for us, anyway) in Thumper's sad demise has now taken place and may even make for a cheerful ending!! She has been sunk and on the slipway at Calveley for a week or so now, whilst Husband Mr Boater tried to find out what could be done and how to get her taken away. Anyway, a friend of a friend at the moorings has now taken ownership of her and is hoping that he may be able to get her afloat again. He has apparently re-plated a Springer before and is willing to get her out, take her away and see what can be done. Although that is still a sad end for us, in that we won't be boating in her again, it would be nice to think she may be refloated and re-fitted to give someone else the pleasure of her company for a few more years. We are off to Crete on holiday next week so at least we can now relax and go, without worrying about coming home to the Sunken Boat Problem! Thanks to all for the kind messages of support during what was a hard time. Cheers Val & Peter No longer nb Thumper at Calveley, on the Shroppie
