Hi all,

Just a quick post re the Rickmansworth Festival. It's the first time
Simon and I have "done" Ricky. We didn't go with the boat as the boat
needs to be at Little Tring for the Wendover Fest next week.
As "exhibitors" we camped last night and I have to say the bands in
the beer tent for the boaters party were fab and we really enjoy Mike
Steven's canal quiz. Note to self, should really have scored more
points but the beer was very good and cheap (for this area) and it
had been a long week. Still, our team came second. Also, watch out
for "The Bobs" as they are a top band.

I don't do camping except under sufferance. last night was not too
bad if slightly chilly (no sleeping bags, just a summer weight
duvet). RTBC??????

Today was really interesting. The fest is not as big as Wendover and
has quite an intimate feel. The brief Red Arrows fly past was
exciting. Quite a few boats, a big save our waterways presence and we
did really well on collecting signatures for the SW Herts
Constituency petition that our local MP is presenting in Parliament
next month. Think we managed over 500 signatures today and Chiltern
IWA also collected another 150 or so. Between us this weekend we hope
to top 1000 or more and are aiming for around 2500 for when David
Gauke MP does his stuff in the House. We've already got jsut under
500 sigs from the Marsworth event for the local petition. We're going
back tomorrow for 2nds so if anyone's around look out for us between
the main festival site and the main drag of boats opposite Tescos.

Saw Barry on K2 chugging up and down. Also the Jannocks whose trip
back to Bourne End after the Lee and Stort had missed out on the fact
there was a very nice festival happening at Ricky. Never mind Graham
and Brenda. Hope you found someone nice and a bit quieter to moor up.
See you soon eh?
