Demolition is to take place of the last complete industrial lined
length of the Bradley arm of the BCN. photos of this site taken today
in album "Sankeys Wharf" to be found on the yahoo group canalscape-BCN
in photos section. This latest delolition is a sad blow to the
industrial canalscape of the BCN. The site contains features of
interest which have not been fully investigated, there is the private
bridge, wharfage and wharf office still extant on this length of the
Bradley canal which also hosted a railway interchange basin. Planning
permission is being sought with Wolverhampton City Council to demolish
the entire site including the bridge over the canal. This site is
virtually the last complete industrial lined length of the Bradley
arm, whilst conservation of the structures is unlikely time should be
allowed for proper recording and investigation. Please make your
comments heard by contacting Wolverhampton City Council, the person to
contact is Nick Hogben - nick.hogben@ wolverhampton. gov.uk
