Friday June 1st 2007 We arrived at the boat to find we had no lecci. The mains supply had run out and the batteries were completely discharged. Reconnection took place and charging commenced. All was now well in the lecci dept apart from the trusty control panel is showing batteries at 100% all the time. I think not. I will investigate how you reset the panel.
Saturday June 2nd Not the best of starts to our holiday. The traveller loo decided today was a good day to jam when filling sending gallons of water into the boat. The porta porti thought it would join in and spill half it's contents onto the bathroom floor. It can only get better and it did. we left at 11.30 having had a successful pumpout and headed north. It's hot and sunny. Quite a lot of traffic about and the trip quite speedy with boats against us. Two locks were even open for us. Colwich lock was surprisingly empty and we were soon through. The new marina just above Great Haywood is nearing completion with the water going in. Nice looking clubhouse. Hoo Mill by comparison is still a mess. We moored for the night at Weston. Leg of lamb stew or casserole depending on where you were born done in the slow cooker. Great TV picture Sunday June 3rd Up and away at the crack of 9.15 in more glorious sunshine. Still quite allot of boats around but mainly going our way. My turn to do the locks today. Sandon, Burston, Aston, and into Stone. Perfect chugging. New building work in stone has meant the loss of many mooing in the town centre. Had a chat with NCBEE which is undergoing a major refit in readiness for the trip down south and the Thames. Stopped for water and I walked to Somerfield for a paper and milk. Had 'discussion' with cyclist on the way back about the difference between a pavement and a road. He was on the pavement!. The flight was all against us with only one boat coming down. The boat was Bliss but not the one from this list I think. The Bliss I remember did not have a Christian Boaters Fellowship sticker on the side. I would have asked but they were in a great hurry, with no time for chat. It has been very hot, I was glad to get to the top. There was a man selling pictures at the top lock. We moored just below, bridge 104 at Barlaston. We were recommended to stop here, in readiness for an early start tomorrow through Stoke and the Harecastle Tunnel. Up to now we are on familiar territory. From tomorrow it's all new. Passable TV picture Regards Andrew & Wendy from The Cut
