>I know that Canaltime are not the most popular firm on the cut

I've just had a week on the boat (including visiting Market
Harborough) and I met many Canaltime boats and I experienced
no problems at all with any of them. In fact I don't believe
I've ever had a problem with Canaltime boaters.

The only problems I had were with private boaters. One woman
shut the top gates of Braunston top lock and proceeded to
empty the lock even though there was only one boat in the
lock and I was about 50 yards away and obviously aiming
for the lock. Another guy entered the staircase at Watford
even though the lock-keeper had told him to go up only the
two single locks at the bottom. This led to me having to
wait even longer than the 90 minutes I'd already spent at
the top (and isn't it a horrible place to wait). And I had
to move my boat when I'd already tied up and settled down
for the night because some git in the sampan city near the
Puddle Banks winding hole started playing rock music at
an incredible volume.
