Bruce asked about the Beale Park woodpecker " Any chance of letting the
rest of us share the joke? :-} "

Of course!

If you ever see Jannock passing below a bridge you are stood on, you
will notice that our short gangplank has 3 holes drilled at one end of
it with the inscription painted on " No moor holes please!" On visiting
the inside of said boat, you will also spy a gangplank repair kit
hanging on the lounge wall that consists of 3 short lengths of dowel
attractively packaged by Albion Enterprises.

This was because during the IWA festival 2003 at Beale Park, we awoke
one morning to find another list member busy drilling holes in the end
of our gangplank in order to peg it to the bank using a stake. On
enquiring why the Woodpecker was doing this, I was informed that it was
OK, Andrew (Dyke) have given his permission for these holes to be
drilled in order to secure the plank to the bank. On revealing to the
Woodpecker that the aforementioned plank belonged to me and not Andrew,
he was sore ashamed and has been the butt of many jokes ever since.

Here endeth the chapter of the Beale Park Woodpecker.
