But how many are like me, I was seriously looking at buying a boat last year (well, two actually) but the cost of going it alone put me off and the other family I was thinking of going in with couldn't justify even half when they looked at the costs. Compare that to ten years ago when I was all ready to buy a boat but didn't because I couldn't get a residential mooring where I needed it (note, couldn't get one, not couldn't afford one). So, people who have a boat arn;t getting rid of them (yet), but I suspect an increasing number of potential budget boaters are doing the sums and saying "no chance".
