Yes Adrian, it was where the Bancroft Gardens are now. the 1932
theatre which is about to be refurbished was partly built on land that
was basin. When theate redeveiopment plans were being considered the
idea of re-opening it was discussed but there was no enthusiasm for
the idea. After GWR sold the land to Stratford there were covenants
about it use and non development.
