I tested out the Canal Planner for a trip from Napton to Thrupp. The system notes: "Total distance is 94 miles, 3¼ flg and 78 locks. There are at least 20 moveable bridges of which 16 are usually left open; 8 small aqueducts or underbridges and 2 tunnels. Made up of 53 miles, 1½ furlongs of narrow canals; 41 miles, 1½ furlongs of broad canals; 52 narrow locks; 26 broad locks. This will take 47 hours, 45 minutes which is 5 days, 2 hours and 45 minutes at 9 hours per day. For calculation purposes, this is taken as 5 days "
Now, that's a scare! We only have 7 days for return trip from Napton Marina to somewhere along the South Oxford Canal and return. I thought we could have made it to Thrupp. Any observations on the proposal? Eric nb omigod
