I'm surprised Dave Stott hasn't collared you into crewing.

(Me) Sadly we didn't see him.

Hope you get Laplanders rudder sorted quickly - maybe the railway
  workshop nearby could help ?

I'm going up tomorrow to see if I can fix it with Rupert Smedley, who as
you know is based nearby; Pete Neville has also offered to help. I
bowhauled her up to Bridge 44 on Sunday but hadn't considered asking the
railway workshop - the problem is getting the rudder off as the upper
pintle goes downwards into the upper gudgeon and the lower pintle goes
upwards into the lower gudgeon. My main concern is knocking a blade off
the prop as the only similar prop I know is on the Rudyard trip-boat
'Swan' - does anyone know what has happened to her after her boiler
failed some years ago?
