Day 5 - 22 August 2007 Denver Sluice to Ely A noisy night was had with wind and rain. We thought it might be a bit more sheltered here, but the waves on the river were slapping the side of the boat.
After a lazy morning, we finally made a move after 2pm. The wind had increased in strength over night, and we had plenty of rain with it. The rain never really stopped falling, and we had wet spells with occasional wetter spells. We passed a couple of Fox boats returning to Denver, and caught up with another just before Ely. Still having occasional problems with the fuel in the engine, which still 'fixes' itself without doing anything to it! We reached the marina fuel mooring at 5pm, and found it shut. The diesel was 59p/l, but we might as well fill up now. We moved across the river, and moored in a gap made by asking a small boat to move up a little. -- Michael Askin http://shoestring_DOT_zapto_DOT_org/
