Nothing to write home about, but fairly average pub grub. My main memory is the large portions - and the beer was ok. There's not much choice on that stretch, and we often end up there on our first day out from Bugbrooke. But I've now come to the conclusion that it's better to cook on board most of the time - and be prepared to pay more at places you know will, or are likely to, serve good food every few days. Average pub grub simply isn't that good - though can be welcome after a long day if you're too knackered to cook. I think our best food in a fortnight was the Turkish place in Stone. -- Nigel Stanley
