Thats very interesting, as Lily, also a Josher (18hp bollinder), had
about 10 ton on board during the Jam 'ole and managed 4 mph without
problem, and accelerated like a deamon thanks to the large prop. All
the other working boats (empty) on the Jam Ole managed to keep pace,
but an empty motor boat I believe doesn't behave as well as a semi
loaded one.

Lots of people complain that working boats are slow - rubbish! Its how
they are driven that makes the difference.
