Hi Rhonda

I hope you'll have a great trip. I assume from your itinerary that
you're hiring from Kate Boats. Which of their boats have you booked? I
moor at the other end of the Stockton flight at Warwickshire Fly Boats
yard so you'll be passing nb Virgo on the last leg of your return to
Stockton Top marina.

When I returned to boating after 20odd years I hired Dorothy Constance
and single-handed to Stratford and back from their other base in
Warwick.

WRT some of the comments in the other thread - I can see from your OP
that you're by no means first-timers, even so 11 hour days in October is
IMHO quite challenging ( at least it would be for me these days!) though
you're avoiding the school half term holiday so there shouldn't be too
many boats about. To be honest it wouldn't be the day length that would
bother me as much as the need to keep going even if it's chucking rain
down in stair rods. I once did the Aylesbury Arm in a thunderstorm but
that was 30 years ago.

The other thing you need to know about this list and uk.rec.waterways is
that thread drift is an essential part of the way we chat! The fact
that people have started talikg about inexperienced Canaltime hirers
doesn't mean they see you in the same light:-)}

Anyway, as I said, we moor at the bottom of the flight. I'm never quite
sure when I'll be on the boat as I work away mid-week most weeks in the
autumn, but if I'm here and you fancy a pint at the Blue Lias before you
set off then drop me an email nearer the time.

Cheers

Guy
