Having lurked for some time on this list I now need to post for advice. My
36ft narrowboat went in yesterday for bottom blacking (she is 24 yrs old we
have owned her for 12yrs). A 'phone call today to come and look at the boat
in the dry dock. Holes all around mostly just below the rubbing strake. It
will need replating. Has anyone had to do this recently and can they
recommend anyone. At the moment it seems to be a toss up whether we should
abandon/scrap or replate, figures around £6500 have been given. We are in
the Nantwich area on the Shropshire Union canal.
