Chester was a nightmare for security. It was the last Roger did. The only
boater I know (in his 60s), who moored at Autherley spent the night in a
police station after apprehending 2 20+year old men who broke into his boat.
My daughter lived on the Wolverhampton flight. The area at the bottom was well
known.
I think it says it all when the only way a business can operate is by building
a fortress.
Can the lock be operated when the business is closed? If so there is no problem
for boaters. Walkers etc may have a problem. The sani station was closed due to
vandalism some time ago.
St Ives is a lovely town I know some locals and I have happily moored there
without the 'protection' of the national.
