Although there are theoretically a huge number of
wide gin-palace type boats on this stretch, the
reality is that many (most?) of them never seem
to stray out of their marinas. On the occasions
when I walk my dog in the Remenham/Hambleden area,
I'm quite likely to see three or four narrow boats
and one or two (or even no) wide boats.
In the winter seeing anything other than a narrow
boat is rare indeed.
