I have known Mike for several years and first made contact as a result of a common appreciation of the BCN and when, coincidentally, we were both editors of our respective organisations' newsletters. Mike wrote about London's waterways for my mag and I reciprocated by writing about the BCN for his. Mike did an enormous amount of work for his IWA Region and was a mainstay of the Canalway Cavalcade team for many years. His vast knowledge of the waterways was second to none and the sad part is that he didn't get to enjoy his retirement to the full, cruising the waterways with Wendy and the cats on their dream boat.
