We came back home today after a few months boating. Approaching the
Marina we could have stayed out but then in the space of an hour we
were rammed near head-on twice...

In each case we were on our side when a boat steerer coming the
other way decided to :- 1. avoid a tree, 2. avoid a double moored
boat ... by, in each case without warning, turning left and flying
across the canal to hit us near our front end. This has not happened
to us more than once every few years in thirty years so twice in a
day. (I shouted rude things at the first one, but nowt at the second -
 he was Welsh.)

An hour previous to this some old private F. came charging round a
bend and straight down the middle like the devil was after him -
forcing us to hit the bank to avoid him. (To my 'slow down moron' he
and old bat beside him yelled and echoed that we should 'move over'!)

After Taffy the wife said that three clowns in a row were enough and
we should take the hint and park the boat in the marina until next
year. When - hopefully - things will be a little less blow you jack.

This we did and left TINY collecting a surface layer of ash from the
wood-smoke of the next boat along.
