Hi All,

I know some of you are interested in our ongoing flood story, so I have
uploaded a few more pictures.

We are now getting on quite well. We are on builder number 4. Number 1
started the stripout and then disappeared. Number 2 did a survey and nothing
more. Number 3 never turned up but number 4 is getting on with the job very
well. All have been appointed by the insurance company. We have now been
paid in full, after a little haggling, for the house contents and we have
had some money towards our out of pocket expenses, but it seems the balance
will be settled on completion. It's been a right saga, which I do not wish
to go into here, it's amazing when threatened with the FSA, the insurance
company suddenly springs into action. We have ordered most of the new
furniture 9/10 week delivery. The new kitchen is arriving on the 29th and
will hopefully be installed the same week. Having looked at 6 well known
kitchen companies, Homebase came out the best on value, quality and superb
service. Tiles, paint colour, wallpaper have all been chosen as have
carpets, but flooring in the kitchen is still to do. The downstairs loo,
shower and vanity unit have been chosen but not yet ordered. I think in the
end we will be obtaining replacement contents from about 12 different
companies and that's only the basics. We will both be very glad when the
plastering is finally finished this week. The mess and dust you would not
believe. All this takes a great deal of work and Wendy, as always, has been
a star. Some of you know how she likes to cook and having LT over the road
has been a Godsend, in that the kitchen has been in full use most days. The
weather in the last few weeks has been kind to us and eating on board has
become the norm. The River Avon did come up about 3 feet or so last week
and the new mooring poles attached now to stern and bow have been very
successful.

Anyway that's about it, I will keep you posted as things progress. We are
well ahead compared to others around us. 2 local houses have not yet been
touched!

Thanks for the ongoing thoughts and emails.

Regards,

Andrew and Wendy
