Just back from our trip around the system and going through E-mails I
came upon the WW map of the busiest canals. I hate Colwich lock - it
is slow - the bottom gate seems to always have some fault... And this
after and we often have to queue for an hour or more even to even use
the thing - finding the queue when no boat has been in sight at Heywood
lock or passed us moored on the Rugely side.

Above the lock there is nowhere to tie the boat and below there is no-
where to B-well queue more than two boats without the crew having to
jump for it over BWs soft edges. (Wot about H&S BW?)

There should be hard edged lock moorings both sides (with 30 or more
bollards at 25' intervals) for us to use when waiting. This (apart from
putting in a second parallel lock) is the least BW can do as they
collect there dosh from the latest marina opened nearby but I won't
hold my breath!
