Sorry, you'll have to make do with a physicist. The PD between the 
surface of the anode and the steel of the hull should tell you the 
identity of the metal well enough to identify the gross composition. If 
I had a table of electronegativities handy I might be able to help more. 
Perhaps an electrochemist will turn up....
