Perverse ! Thank heaven for the smiley. Fact is that if we use UM in 2008 no more than we have this year then the fixed costs alone will exceed £150 per day of use. I can certainly see why the Tricky Dicky's of the world have made their minds up. There is no easy exit though, what with the general economic situation and the iminent decline in the specific waterways economy.
