Today we moved Jannock down through the three locks and swing bridge to the
winding point, turned and retraced our route back to the mooring. We
performed exactly the same manoeuvre during the first weekend in February
last year. The weather was glorious with not a lot of cloud in evidence and
the only thing to report is the towpath side lower gate on lock 60. This is
the one that has a temporary heel post fitted after the original failed last
autumn - it is a right bu$$er to move so if anyone is passing through solo,
use the offside lower gate and save the hernia for later. Thanks to the
Parglena crew for lock wheeling and making the trip much quicker, allowing
me to carry out a couple of maintenance tasks before lunchtime.

Incidentally, I've just totted up that Jannock travelled 545 miles through
708 locks in 344 hours during 2007. That's an average of 3.6 lm/h. Must
update canal planner.
