Lock 56

Friday 15 February 2008 - Friday 14 March 2008

A stoppage is required at Lock 56 to enable Stratford District Council
to remove the existing lock bridge and prepare groundwork for a new
bridge as part of the wider gardens renovation project which will last
until 22 August. British Waterways apologises for any inconvenience
caused.

Access to the Lock: Boaters are reminded that formal access to the
lock from the river is via the Recreation Ground and the Tramway
Bridge. There will be a signed route from the Tramway Bridge to the
lock through the construction site. The river bank of Bancroft Gardens
will be closed to boats during the period of the works.

Ha! That will keep single-handers fit!
