Just a thought... you said your PC was set up by your employers using wireless broadband. It hasn't got a cache setting on Explorer has it? It's not beyond the realms of possibility that you're pointed at a cache server which downloads jpegs in pages and cranks up the compression to make the page loading much quicker (which I believe is what services like OnSpeed and similar do). Google earth may work fine (for instance) because it's not going through the cache server for data, or is being specifically whitelisted. You might get a clue if you look at Tools... Internet Options... Connections... LAN Settings... and see if there's anything in the proxy server field(s). -- David
